“Khilafat-e-Andalus” is authentic and the best book available in Urdu on the Islamic history of Andalus. It was first published in 1904, and then, with revisions and useful additions, the government press of Hyderabad republished it in 1933.
This book, “Khilafat-e-Andalus,” is divided into four volumes. The first part mentions the amazing victories and achievements of the princes who ruled Andalusia during the Umayyad Caliphate (Damascus) and the flight of Abd al-Rahman al-Dahl to Andalus after the end of the Umayyad Caliphate. This is a period of amazing growth for Muslims in Andalus.
In the second part, there is a detailed history of the sultans of Andalusia and the Caliphs of the Umayyads, as well as the intrigues and achievements of Muhammad bin Abi Amir al-Mansur and his sons and the general upheaval. This was the period of amazing development of the Umayyad rulers and Caliphs in Andalus and the rule of Al-Mansur.
In the third part, the conditions of the sovereign rulers and the family of the Murabat (i.e., the family of Yusuf bin Tashfeen) and the Muhadeen, i.e., Abd al-Mu’min and his descendants, the wars of the Muslims with the Christians, the expulsion of the Muslims from the country of Andalus, and the overall situation of Islamic Andalus are mentioned. That is, in this part, there is a heartbreaking story of the abject degradation of Muslims.
In the fourth part, there is an introduction to the situation of the famous scholars, scholars, Muhadditheen, and historians of Andalus and their works. This section is very useful for scholars and students.
