Qadeem Tareekh-e-Thal by Malik Muhammad Shafi PDF Free Download
Qadeem Tareekh-e-Thal Aur Roran Ke Asar-e-Qadima is an important historical work by renowned researcher and historian Malik Muhammad Shafi, which deals with the ancient history, geographical conditions, tribal background, cultural traditions, and social evolution of Thal, a vast desert region of Punjab. This region, spread between the Indus and the Jhelum Rivers, holds a prominent place in the regional history of Punjab due to its unique culture, centuries-old traditions, and historical significance.
In this book, Malik Muhammad Shafi has tried to understand Thal’s past from different angles. Alongside ancient settlements, shifting geographical conditions, and historical periods, it also presents accounts of the tribes, families, and individuals who lived here and shaped the region’s social and political formation. These details elevate the history of Thal beyond a mere chronicle of events; they highlight the human life that flourished on this land and its journey of evolution.
A key aspect of the book is its examination of Thal’s civilizational and cultural heritage. The local customs, language, folk traditions, social values, and economic realities provide insight into the region’s distinct identity. The struggles of a people living amidst the harsh conditions of a desert environment, their steadfast commitment to their traditions, and how they have navigated the passage of time are all integral to the significance of this historical study.
Qadeem Tareekh-e-Thal (Ancient History of Thal) is a remarkable effort in regional historiography, which highlights the fact that the history of a region is not only complete with mentions of major political events and rulers, but also that its soil, geography, tribes, language, and folk traditions shape its historical identity. This book is an important scholarly and historical study for readers interested in the history, civilisation, and society of Thal.
