Tareekh Masjid-e-Nabawi book authored by Maulana Muhammad Miraj-ul-Islam. This book describes complete historical information about Masjid-e-Nabawi in a very comprehensive manner and with historical references.
Masjid-e-Nabawi is a mosque built on the foundation of piety, founded by the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with His blessed hands, and He built it twice at different times.
In terms of its characteristics, this holy mosque is unique and magnificent! Muslims have a deep relationship and devotion to this mosque. And being the mosque of their Prophet, they regard it with the utmost respect. But according to their traditions, just as they are ignorant of the history of their other holy places, they are entirely unaware of the historical and architectural information about Masjid-i-Nabawi. Only some people will have complete documented information in this regard.
Due to the facts mentioned above, this book has been written to provide authentic historical information about this holy mosque of Islam to Muslims, especially those who speak Urdu.
Tareekh Masjid-e-Nabawi consists of eight chapters, which describe the mosque’s history from its construction to the present day. The contents of these chapters are detailed below.
The first chapter maps the cultural, moral, and religious condition of Arabs during Jahiliyyah, the birth of the Holy Prophet. It highlights the claim of Prophethood, the migration, and its background and causes.
The second chapter describes the historical faithfulness and unparalleled love with which the people of Madinah waited for their Holy Prophet. After a warm welcome, he was taken to the settlement and provided with all the conveniences of a permanent residence.
Chapter 3 is the most detailed chapter devoted to the historical details of constructing the Prophet’s Mosque. Authentic academic terminology and historical background are used to describe the changes occurring in different periods. This chapter is the book’s soul, providing relevant historical information about the construction of Masjid Nabawi.
The fourth chapter concerns the residential part adjacent to the mosque built for the Holy Prophet’s accommodation. This is from where the Holy Prophet used to come to the mosque. Since they were adjacent to the mosque, the events that took place in them are closely related to the mosque. Accordingly, they are described in this chapter.
In the fifth chapter, only events are described that are indirectly related to Masjid Nabawi. From this perspective, that part has become a memory, along with the memory of the Prophet’s Mosque.
The events in the Prophet’s Mosque that left a deep impression on his companions are adorning the sixth chapter. In the seventh chapter of this book, there exist those matters of faith which His Holiness ﷺ was deliberating on whilst settled in his mosque.
Following the reconfiguration of the mosque, a dais was placed therein, which served as the podium from which Muhammed (peace be upon him) addressed his followers in his sermons; chapter eight provides further information about these speeches, including their genesis.
