It is the story of Romesa, an orphan girl who suffered after the death of her parents. She lives with her cruel and greedy aunt. Romesa becomes the love of Nabil, a wealthy businessman, and they get married. Unexpected events compel him to reside in his father-in-law’s home, where he receives subservient treatment. Umairah’s story effectively expresses the idea that an individual must fight for their basic rights in order to survive, as conceding defeat and giving up will not help one in a harsh environment.
Umaira Ahmed is one of Pakistan’s most widely read and well-known Urdu fiction novelists and screenplay writers. She completed her Master’s in English Literature from Murray College, Sialkot. She later became an English language lecturer for AS and A level at Army Public College, Sialkot. However, she quit her job after a few years to focus on writing.
Umera began her writing career in 1998 at a very young age. Her early stories were published in the monthly Urdu Digests and later in the form of books. She has written several books, including full novels and short stories. However, her novel “Peer e Kamil” became his identity. Her novels and stories are even projected on TV dramas and carve a great spot in the hearts of viewers.
