Hazrat e Sanan Bin Salma (Ashab Baba) authored by Ziaullah Khan Jadoon. This book presents a research review of the famous Sahabi e Rasool Hazrat Sinan bin Salama, known as Ashab Baba, and the shrine of Ashab Baba, located in Peshawar.

Hazrat e Sinan bin Salama bin Muhibq is the Eminent Companion (Sahabi) of our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and was buried in Chaghramti, a suburb of Peshawar Known as “Ashab Baba Village.

He is buried along with many other companions of the Prophet and Mujahideen of Islam at this place of Chaghramti. He was martyred at this place in 66 Hijri after hoisting the flag of Islam during the war with the Hindu kings at this place in Peshawar.

This long tomb is actually the joint tomb of many Companions and Mujahideen of Islam. These blessed dignitaries bid farewell to their regions and families, where they came and fought with the infidels for the sake of attaining the pleasure of Allah and for the propagation and exaltation of the complete and comprehensive religion brought by Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) and for their innocent, lofty and pure purpose. Along with the achievement of the martyrdom, the martyrdom was laid to rest here. People here have great devotion to this shrine.

Hazrat e Sinan bin Salama (RA) was a Jalil-ul-Qadr Sahabi Rasool as well as a learned and experienced general and commander of the Islamic army. When the region of Khorasan was conquered, Hazrat Ziyad (RA) was appointed as the ruler of Khorasan. This was the era of Hazrat Uthman, who had sent the Islamic army in different directions. Among his soldiers was Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Sawar, a mujahid general of Islam, who was martyred along with his other mujahids and Ghazis at Qalat.

So, after this event in 66 AH, the ruler of Khorasan, Hazrat Ziad Radi Allahu Anhu, sent Hazrat Sinan Bin Salama Radi Allahu Anhu as the commander of the Islamic army to conquer the territories of India to fulfill the mission of Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Sawar. May Allah be pleased with him. He first crushed the rebellion in the Makran region and advanced under the banner of Islam, and after some time, he conquered the areas of Qalat and Quetta.

Here, he established a solid Islamic government, and then, after conquering the areas of Dera Ismail Khan and Bannu, reached Kohat and established the Islamic government in Kohat and then entered the valley of Peshawar to conquer Peshawar. Later, the Islamic army of Hazrat Sinan bin Salama arrived in Daudzai, where a bloody battle was fought with the infidels at the place of Chaghramti, and while waving the flag of Islam, Hazrat Sinan bin Salama and his other Mujahideen friends were martyred in large numbers.

All these martyrs were buried here, and people remember this mausoleum as Mazar Ashab Baba. A large number of devotees visit the shrine. Peshawar Valley is also a fortunate city because one of the miracles of Hazrat Muhammad (Hazrat Sinan bin Salama bin Muhibq R.A.) is here.
