Class Four Ki Mehbooba by Mumtaz Bukhari Pdf Free Download Class Four Ki Mehbooba is a realistic novel by Mumtaz Bukhari that explores the lives of the railway working class, depicting the agony of poverty, social injustice, and the helplessness of individuals crushed under the weight of deprivation. Presented here in an Urdu translation by Sami Kindhar, the novel portrays a society where class divisions and adverse circumstances strip the poor of their dreams, subjecting their lives to a state of perpetual trial. In this novel, Mumtaz Bukhari presents the bitter realities of life without any embellishment. His style is rooted in a tradition of realism where the author does not merely recount events; rather, he reveals the suffering of his characters, their deprivations, and the pervasive apathy surrounding them in such a way that the reader feels intimately connected to their experiences. The novel’s artistic structure, the nuanced emotional states of its characters, and the compelling narration of events make it a work that sustains the reader’s attention from beginning to end. The story centres around the lives of Rahim Dad, a railway worker, and his daughter Shabana. Their circumstances illustrate the struggle, helplessness, and crumbling hopes of an impoverished family. Shabana’s life, in particular, emerges as a symbol of deprivation and unfulfilled dreams. The trains passing by serve as a poignant reminder of life’s broader journey—a journey in which others continue moving toward their destinations, while some find themselves trapped within such restrictive circumstances that even the desire to move forward is rendered powerless. Mumtaz Bukhari has portrayed the life of a family broken by poverty with such profound depth that Shabana’s suffering transcends the story of a single individual; it emerges as a challenge to the conscience of society as a whole. Hidden within her silence is a cry that demands a capacity for empathy and human compassion, yet societal apathy often overlooks such voices. Class Four Ki Mehbooba is not merely an account of the lives of railway workers; it is a lament for those whose labour keeps the wheels of society turning, even as their own dreams remain unfulfilled. Mumtaz Bukhari’s realism, the emotional resonance of the narrative, and his depiction of the bitter facets of human existence make this novel a compelling literary work. Its Urdu translation introduces readers to a world where poverty, class inequality, and human suffering converge to create a portrait of life that is as painful as it is true to reality.
