Maut Ki Tareekh, by Yasir Jawad. This book contains a poetical, scientific and psychological study of the greatest fear of mankind, i.e. “death”. The first part of the book gives a brief outline of different concepts and theories of death. The second part consists of psychological investigations and discussions. The third section consists of short essays on depictions of death in literature and art, while the fourth section is based on biographies of a scientist’s stages of death and the views of important people on death.

In the Western world, these debates are raging over:

  • what should be done with the dead?
  • Should children be told about death or not?
  • Does the metaphysical concept of death lead us to destiny?

Of course, these debates are important because they contribute to the formation and development of our worldview. I think death needs to be seen as a natural process like birth. Everything in the universe is permanent and an ongoing process. If death is indeed a process, are we part of the eternal flow of the universe (whatever its form or name)?
