Jameeluddin Ali was a famous Pakistani Urdu poet, writer, essayist, critic, scholar and travel writer. His first book of poetry “Ghazal, Duhe Aur Geet” was published in 1958. He and the late Nasir Kazmi were considered to be the most prominent contemporaries among the nine contemporary poets of Pakistani ghazal music. However, Aali was not just a ghazal poet. His music also had wild colour and sweetness. He has enriched this Urdu poetry with simple linguistic experiences.
The fluency and freshness of his language were such elements that his name spread in every part of India and Pakistan, and he gained unparalleled fame and popularity by singing “Doha” and reciting it in his style. He has given a new lease on life in his Urdu “Doha”.
Despite the size of the collection, it is very expensive. It includes most of the best ghazals, songs and Dohas of his life. This edition contains all the poems of Ali Sahab from 1974 onwards, except the national anthems.
