Rasulullah’s Recitation of the Quran in Salah – Huzoor s.a.w Ka Char Rakat Mein Che Pare Parhna
Hazrat Awf (radiyallahu anhu) narrates: “I was once with Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). He brushed his teeth with a Miswak, performed his Wudu and stood up for salah. I also took the opportunity to join him. He recited Surah Al-Baqarah in his first Raka’ah. He would make du’a for mercy when he recited any ayah extolling the Grace of Allah Ta’ala, and would supplicate for Divine forgiveness when reciting any ayah referring to His wrath. Then he went into ruku and sajdah, spending as much time in each as he had spent standing and reciting the Quran. In ruku he recited:
“Glory to Allah, the Allah of Majesty, sovereignty and Magnificence“. He recited the next three successive surahs in the remaining three raka’at, and each rak’ah was of about the same length as the first one”. Hazrat Huzayfah (radiyallahu anhu) has also narrated a similar story about his salah with Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).
Note:- The recitation of the Quran by Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in the four raka’at described above amounts to more than one fifth of the whole Quran. And Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam)recited the Quran pronouncing every word correctly, and would also make du’a, and seek forgiveness after relevant ayat. Again, he would spend as much time in ruku and sajdah as he would in standing and reciting the Quran. We can thus have a fair idea of how much time he must have taken to say his salah. This can only be possible when salah is source of great inner satisfaction and spiritual pleasure. That is why Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has often been quoted as saying: “The comfort of my eyes hes in salah.”
