Abdullah Hussain was born on August 14, 1931, in Bannu. His ancestors migrated from Bannu to Punjab and settled in Rawalpindi. His father was an inspector in the excise department and later started farming after retirement. Abdullah’s mother died when he was only six months old, so he was raised by his father. He passed away on July 4, 2015, in Rawalpindi after a long illness due to cancer.
