Hijazi was born in undivided India and after independence, he migrated to Pakistan and settled in Lahore. His novels based on Islamic history are considered to have a unique place in Urdu literature.
Yusuf bin Tashfeen is the only novel in the Urdu language that has been written so far about the personality of Yusuf Ibn Tashfeen and his deeds.
